On World Cancer Day 2021, we launched our Cancer Research Giving Day campaign, a special matched-giving campaign to raise funds for life-saving cancer research.
Every dollar donated on or before Thursday 4 February was matched by our generous matching donor so that every $1 had an incredible $4 of impact!
We had an amazing response, exceeding our matched donations bonus target and raising a total of $586,854 to fund WA's best and brightest cancer researchers.
When donating, people had the option to include a dedication or message of support. We received over 400 of these dedications, some of which are below:
"The Cancer Council is a lifeline in the stormy sea of a cancer diagnosis."
"A heartfelt thank you to all that are working towards a cancer free future."
"For the fight against cancer, may we one day win."
"I'm a cancer survivor and was helped by Cancer Council so much."
We understand our community has experienced some challenges recently, so we are especially grateful for your passion and dedication to supporting West Australians impacted by cancer.
Thanks to generous community support, every day we're getting closer to a future without cancer and a time when cancer is no longer something to fear.
To express our thanks, we've put together a special message for our supporters below.
