CCTV images released after photographer assaulted in Sydney

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after a photographer was allegedly assaulted in Sydney's CBD.

About 6.30am (Tuesday 22 January 2019) a 58-year-old man was on the corner of George and Market streets, taking photos in the area, when he was allegedly grabbed by an unknown man.

The photographer was able to free himself, before he was allegedly threatened by another man.

The 58-year-old man was not physically injured.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were notified and commenced investigations.

Following inquiries, investigators have now released CCTV images of two men they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The first man depicted in the image, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s, approximately 183cm tall, with short dark hair. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, and no shoes.

The second man depicted in the image, is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, also aged in his late 20s, of thin build, approximately 183cm tall, with no front teeth. He was wearing a grey t-shirt, grey shorts, a multi-coloured scarf covering his face and cap.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or can identify the men depicted is urged to come forward.
