Police are appealing for public assistance following a break and enter and a pursuit in the state's Hunter Valley overnight.
About 3am today (Monday 3 August 2026), officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District were patrolling on Cessnock Road, Neath, when they attempted to stop a white Toyota van being driven dangerously.
When it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued through Station Street, Weston, where it was terminated due to safety concerns.
About 4am the same day, police were called to a hotel on Wollombi Road, Cessnock, following reports of a break and enter.
Police were told between 1.30am and 4am the same day, the business was broken into, before an unknown man ransacked the counter and kitchen, stole a white van and left the scene.
A crime scene has been established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.
Inquiries established the two incidents are linked.
As inquiries continue, detectives have released an image of the van - a 2018 white Toyota HiAce van with NSW registration FGI63L.
