Changes to outdoor Pool hours this weekend

Ballarat is gearing up for a hot weekend, placing increased demand on the City’s outdoor swimming facilities.

In order to cater for this increased patronage and manage resource challenges, there will be changes to the opening hours of some of our outdoor pools this weekend.

REVISED OPENING HOURS FOR CITY OF BALLARAT OUTDOOR POOLS – JANUARY 22-24

  • Friday
    • Brown Hill Pool 3pm – 7:30pm
    • Black Hill Pool 3pm – 7:30pm
  • Saturday
    • Brown Hill Pool CLOSED
    • Black Hill Pool 3pm – 7:30pm
    • Buninyong Pool 3pm – 7:30pm
  • Sunday
    • Brown Hill Pool CLOSED
    • Black Hill Pool 3pm – 7:30pm

These hours are subject to change. All our pools have reduced capacities due to COVID restrictions in place, so people are encouraged to check the BALC website for updates before planning their visit.

Please note:

  • The Eureka Pool and Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre (BALC) will maintain normal operating hours.
  • Children’s Splash Parks will also operate as normal for young families to enjoy and cool down.

The City, like many Councils has been affected by an industry shortage of Lifeguards since COVID, with limited applications for positions.

The current resources have been allocated to enable as many outdoor pools as possible to remain open this weekend with adequate Lifeguards to ensure public safety.
