Charges following Echuca warrants

Cobram Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged six men following the execution of warrants executed in Echuca on Tuesday (5 February).

Six warrants were executed in a cross-regional day of action into residential and commercial burglaries in Echuca, Numurkah, Cobram and Yarrawonga between December 2108 and January 2019.

More than 40 charges have been laid against the men. Details are as follows:

• A 33-year-old Echuca man has been charged with trafficking a drug of dependence, four counts of burglary, handling stolen goods, theft and theft of a motor vehicle. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates' Court on 2 April

• A 28-year-old Echuca man has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing methylamphetamine. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates' Court on 30 April.

• A 34-year-old man from Echuca has been charged with four counts of burglary, possessing methylamphetamine, dealing with the proceeds of crime, theft, handling stolen goods and firearms offences. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates' Court on 2 April.

• A 28-year-old man from Kyabram has been charged with possession of an unregistered firearm, handling stolen goods and possessing cannabis. He has been bailed to appear at Echuca Magistrates' Court on 30 April.

• A 26-year-old man from Echuca has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, handling stolen goods, dangerous driving and committing indictable offences whilst on bail. He has been remanded to appear at court at a later date.

• And a 28-year-old man from Echuca was charged with one count of handling stolen goods. He will also face court at a later date.
