Cheer on Matildas from Penrith live site

After an exciting Saturday night in The Mondo watching the Matildas qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup Semi Final, Penrith City Council is thrilled to announce its live site for this Wednesday, when the mighty Matildas take on England.

Following the nail-biting win against France, Council's free, family-friendly live streaming event at The Mondo in Penrith will start from 6pm with pre-game screening and activities ahead of kick-off at 8pm.

Penrith Mayor Tricia Hitchen is encouraging community members to wear green and gold, and come along to The Mondo to cheer on the Matildas.

"Penrith is full of football fans and Council would love to see our community come together for a night of anticipation and excitement - and hopefully another win!" Cr Hitchen said.

"There will be something for everyone at the live site with face painting, crafts and soccer activities for kids, while the adults can get dinner sorted with food trucks providing tasty options," she said.

"Council thanks those who attended our earlier live screenings at St Marys and Penrith, it was fantastic to see our community spirit shine in support of the Matildas.

"We are thrilled to see the talented team through to the Semi Final and wish them the best of luck ahead of Wednesday's match."

Council will provide bean bags, seating and heaters for the event and attendees can also bring along their own picnic rugs and chairs.

Please note that there is no glass or alcohol permitted at the live site.
