St Peter's Cathedral is preparing for the most important time in the Church calendar, when we celebrate the birth of Christ.

We invite you to come and meet the Dean of St Peter's Frank Nelson, and Canon Jenny Wilson as they unveil the Nativity tableau in preparation for our Christmas services.

Christmas is a very special time of the year for everyone, but particularly for children.

"Usually our special children's service on Christmas Eve attracts up to 500 people as people bring their children, grand children, and even great grandchildren to celebrate the wonder of Christmas," Dean Frank said.

"Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we have had to cancel that service, but that doesn't mean there is no room for children to join with their families to celebrate this special time of year.

"Families are welcome to come to the Cathedral in the run-up to Christmas, to take a break from shopping, visit the Nativity scene and reflect on the real reason for this season of peace and goodwill at the end of a difficult year," Dean Frank said.

The Cathedral is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am-3pm.

"We have a special Service this Sunday (20 December) at 6pm and two carol services on Tuesday and Thursday evening (22 & 24 December) at 7pm.

Most of the following services will be livestreamed on the Cathedral Facebook Page.
