Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged five people in relation to a robbery and assault incident that occurred in City Beach on Tuesday 26 January 2021.
About 9:30pm three 16-year-old males were in the beach area along West Coast Highway, City Beach, when they were approached by a group of males. During the incident the three victims were assaulted and had items stolen from them.
Yesterday, Friday 29 January 2021, detectives arrested five people, who have since been charged in relation to the incident.
An 18-year-old man from Langford, a 17-year-old boy from Thornlie and a 15-year-old boy from Koondoola have each been charged with 'Aggravated Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm' and two counts of 'Aggravated Robbery'.
A 17-year-old boy from Stirling has been charged with 'Aggravated Robbery'.
A 16-year-old boy from Thornlie has been charged with 'Aggravated Robbery' in relation to the City Beach incident, and 'Endanger life, health or safety of a person' in relation to a separate assault incident in Perth the day before, Monday 25 January 2021.
All five of the accused have been refused bail. The 18-year-old man is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Saturday 30 January 2021. The four juvenile ales are also due to appear in court today, in the Perth Children's Court.
