The City of Swan has been recognised as one of Western Australia's leading waterwise councils, by earning a gold waterwise endorsement from Water Corporation.

Swan Active Beechboro was acknowledged in the Waterwise Recognition awards for water-saving efforts as part of Water Corporation's Waterwise Aquatic Centre Program.

Since 2015 Swan Active Beechboro, Midland and Ballajura have been accredited as waterwise aquatic centres.

The Waterwise Council Program is one of several targeted programs that promote efficiency among high water users and ensure all segments of the community are doing their bit to conserve precious water supplies.

Waterwise initiatives introduced by the City at our aquatic centres include replacing tap fixtures with those that have improved water rating flow rates and adjusting cleaning procedures.

Across the City we are also implementing opportunities for irrigation efficiency on City irrigated land, working with developers to ensure all new City irrigated assets are efficient and implementing opportunities for potable water efficiency in City buildings.
