Claremont Incident Charges

Perth Detectives have charged a 32-year-old man in relation to an incident that occurred in Claremont on Wednesday 30 April 2025.

It will be alleged about 10am, a red Jeep Wrangler had driven onto the Claremont Jetty. Police attended and attempted to negotiate with the male driver, who later drove his vehicle into the Swan River.

It will be alleged prior to the incident on the jetty, the man, while in possession of a tyre iron, approached a female inside a vehicle on Walter Street in Claremont, and stole a personal item.

It will be further alleged the man also drove the Jeep Wrangler towards a WA Police vehicle and collided with it, causing significant damage.

No one was injured as a result of the incidents.

A 32-year-old man from Bull Creek has been charged with:

• 1 x Armed Robbery

• 1 x Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Thursday 1 May 2025.
