Collie Operating Theatre Reaches Practical Completion

Collie Health Service is now home to a brand-new operating theatre, with main works of the theatre redevelopment reaching practical completion and the first cohort of patients welcomed today.

Upgrades to the operating theatre complex form part of a $14.7 million investment by the McGowan Government to ensure the local community has access to world-class healthcare facilities close to home.

As well as the new operating theatre, main works included upgrades to the theatre waiting room and reception, the addition of a new consult room, installation of state-of-the-art telehealth technology and soon to be installed local artworks.

Other critical infrastructure works to be completed as part of the redevelopment include upgrades to heating, cooling and ventilation systems, replacement of hot water systems, upgraded electrical systems and upgraded car park lighting.

As stated by Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson:

"The theatre works at Collie Health Service are part of our commitment to improving access to contemporary healthcare facilities closer to home.

"The new operating theatre features state-of-the-art technology and amenities and will significantly enhance the experience of patients and staff.

"We are investing $14.7 million in the Collie Health Service with other infrastructure works, such as new outpatient rooms, expected to be completed in the near future."

As stated by Collie-Preston MLA Jodie Hanns:

"The completion of the new operating theatre at Collie Health Service is an exciting milestone for this important project.

"Ensuring access to world-class healthcare in our area is a key priority for the McGowan Government and the redevelopment of the Collie Health Service will deliver huge benefits for patients and their families."
