ASB Bank Limited (ASB) today announced that Vittoria Shortt is stepping down after almost nine years as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ASB. Her last day with ASB will be 11 December 2026.
The ASB Board has appointed Sinead Taylor, currently Group Executive Institutional Banking and Markets at Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), as ASB's next Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Ms Taylor will commence on 12 December 2026.
ASB is a wholly owned subsidiary of CBA.
CBA Chief Executive Officer Matt Comyn said: "I want to thank Vittoria for her leadership of ASB over the past nine years, and for her contribution to the CBA Group over more than two decades. She has led ASB's more than 7,000 people through a period of significant change, investing in technology and digital services for customers while keeping the bank focused on the financial wellbeing of New Zealanders and their communities. We wish her all the best."
Ms Taylor has been Group Executive Institutional Banking and Markets since February 2025. She joined the CBA Group in 2008 and has held a number of senior leadership roles across CBA and Bankwest, including Group Executive Chief Operations Officer and Executive General Manager of Bankwest.
Mr Comyn said: "Sinead is an outstanding leader with broad experience across customer - facing banking, operations and institutional banking. She has led large, complex teams, strengthened risk management and delivered better outcomes for customers. That combination of customer focus, operational discipline and execution makes her well placed to lead ASB through its next phase."
A process has commenced to identify Ms Taylor's successor as Group Executive Institutional Banking and Markets.

Sinead has over 25 years' banking experience leading teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
Sinead has been Group Executive Institutional Banking and Markets at CBA since February 2025, responsib ility for banking and financial services for large corporate, government and institutional customers across Australia and internationally.
Prior to her current role, Sinead was Group Executive Chief Operations Officer of CBA, and Executive General Manager of Bankwest. She has held various executive roles at CBA in global markets, strategy, marketing, business and corporate banking. Prior to CBA, Sinead managed strategy and marketing teams for top tier professional service firms in the UK and Australia.
Sinead holds an MBA (Distinction) from the Australian Graduate School of Management and is an elected Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
