Contract Awarded for Harley Hammond Netball Upgrade

Council has awarded the construction contract for the Harley Hammond Reserve Netball Courts and Lighting Upgrade, with works expected to begin after the netball season in October.

The contract, awarded to Field Form Pty Ltd, is made possible thanks to $967,250 from the Australian Government's Play Our Way Program. Council has also committed an additional $200,000 towards the works.

The project will deliver two state-of-the-art netball courts with compliant lighting. The works are designed to support the growing netball community in Broadford, which includes Broadford Football Netball Club, Broadford Junior Football Netball Club and Broadford Netball Club.

In addition to the courts, a new play space will be created adjacent to the netball facilities, offering expanded recreational opportunities for local families.

A separate procurement process is planned later this year for the play space component. All works are expected to be completed by the end of March 2026.

The works will be carefully scheduled in consultation with user groups to minimise disruption to regular activities.

The works at Harley Hammond Reserve are some of the many exciting community facilities and recreational developments funded in Council's 2025/26 budget. Other major projects include:
