Council Café On Move Again, Next Stop Yenda

Council Café is back on the move this month, heading to Yenda on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.

Join us for an informal drop-in session. Residents can talk to Councillors and Council staff. They can discuss local projects, share ideas, or voice concerns. No need to visit the Council Chambers or make a phone call.

Over the coming months, Council Café may be held on different days to accommodate events, so residents are encouraged to stay up to date via Council's social media channels or Connect Griffith to see where and when it will pop up next.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said, Council Café connects Council to the community, regardless of attendance.

"Sometimes we get 10 visitors; other times, a few. But we're always here to listen to our community," Councillor Curran said.

"These conversations matter. They let residents share concerns and ask questions. They also help Council understand what is important to our community."

Recent sessions took place at Griffith Central, Kurrajong Kosy Café in the Griffith Community Centre on Olympic Street, and the Kooyoo Kiosk.

Some of the topics raised include:

  • Accessible parking on Banna Avenue
  • Entrance to Griffith via Hillston Road
  • Drainage issues
  • Public safety between Macarthur and Barellan Streets
  • Pedestrian crossings
  • Maintenance at Griffith Cemetery

Don't miss Council Café on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, from 11.30am to 1pm outside the Yenda Supermarket.
