New faces have brought expertise and fresh ideas at Corangamite Shire Council.
Career advancements, a retirement, and professional development of existing staff have led to changes across the Council management team.
Chief Executive Officer David Rae said Kathryn Anderson started on 25 November as Manager Governance and Civic Support.
Ms Anderson works directly under the CEO and is also responsible for the Communications and Customer Relations teams.
"Kathryn has been working in the private sector for the past couple of years," Mr Rae said.
"Before that she was with the Commonwealth Attorney General's Department for 17 years in analytical, administrative and governance roles.
"Kathryn joined us at an opportune time at the commencement of a new Council term."
New Manager Regulatory Services Andrew Nield took the helm of the Planning, Building and Environmental Health teams on 10 March.
Director Sustainable Development Justine Linley said Mr Nield has over 17 years' experience in Planning and has worked at both Moyne and Warrnambool Councils and most recently Southern Grampians Shire Council.
"He is an experienced statutory and strategic planner and has previously had oversight of other building and Environmental Health services.
"He replaces Aaron Moyne, who has pursued career advancement as Director Infrastructure Services in Glenelg Shire after seven years of valuable work for Corangamite.
"Andrew also takes on some responsibilities from Lyall Bond who has moved to Manager Works on 24 August following the retirement of Peter Rogers."
"Belinda Bennett, has stepped into Lyall's shoes as Manager Environment and Emergency after many years of dedicated service, including time in an acting capacity.
"Belinda has been with Corangamite for 16 years, bookending a three-year stint at Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group.
"Starting as weed project officer she advanced to Environment Coordinator then supported the community through bushfires, floods and the pandemic as Community Safety and Resilience Coordinator."
"It is wonderful to see this well-deserved appointment."
Director Works and Services Shaun Broadbent welcomed Mr Bond to his directorate.
"Lyall has a wealth of experience, having started with Council in 2003 as Planning and Environment Officer and progressed through a number of other roles.
"For the past 14 years he has been Manager Environment and Emergency with responsibility for waste and recycling, local laws and more.
"He has overseen major infrastructure works at the Corangamite Regional landfill and annual maintenance programs which makes him a perfect fit for the new role."
Manager of Financial Services Prabath Jayawardana started on March 3.
Director Corporate and Community Services David Harrington said: "Prabath brings a wealth of experience from his tenure in Local Government in New Zealand, where he served as a senior finance professional and has also valuable experience as an auditor in public practice accounting.
"He is joining at an opportune time and will be involved in the final stages of the Budget preparation.
"I would also like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation and thanks to Jacqui Thomas for her dedication over the past two and a half years in this role.
"We are grateful that she will continue to support the team as the Finance Coordinator."
