The State Government has announced an extension to the circuit-breaker lockdown for metropolitan Melbourne - which includes all of Yarra Ranges.

From 11.59pm Thursday, 3 June, restrictions will remain in place with small changes:

  • The five reasons to leave home (permitted work, compassionate or medical assistance, exercise for up to two hours, shopping and getting vaccinated) stays the same.
  • You will be able to travel up to 10km for shopping or exercise, up from the current 5km.
  • Outdoor gatherings or visitors to your home are still not allowed (with the exception of single bubbles and intimate partners). You can still exercise with one person not from your household, as long as you're both within your travel limit.
  • Year 11 and 12 students will be able to return to face-to-face study (including students in other levels studying a VCE subject).
  • People in metropolitan Melbourne - including all areas of Yarra Ranges - will not be able to travel to Regional Victoria for the Queen's Birthday weekend (12-14 June).
  • Masks must still be worn indoors and outdoors when not at home (unless you're exercising or have a medical exemption).

This coming week will be crucial to prevent the virus spreading further.

Please wear a mask, practice social distancing, check Victorian Department of Health's exposure site list, get tested if you have any symptoms, no matter how minor and, if you're eligible, get vaccinated.
