Creative Carlton commences on Saturday 21 March, transforming Carlton Parade and Short Street into a creative hub with live performances, interactive arts workshops and a circus playground.
Creative Carlton is a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of Carlton's growing creative community, with a diverse program of live performances, interactive workshops, and a circus playground suitable for all ages.
Community performers and local creatives will be at the heart of the program, ensuring strong local representation and broad audience appeal.
A range of food stalls and food trucks will operate throughout the event, supporting local vendors and providing casual dining options for attendees.
In addition to scheduled stage performances, roving performers will animate the streets across the event footprint, adding movement, surprise, and visual impact, while creating a strong sense of energy and place.
Face painting and hands-on activities will further enhance the family-friendly atmosphere and encourage participation.
Creative Carlton will be held on Saturday 21 March, from 1pm - 7pm.
Council encourages the use of public transport with Carlton train station providing direct access to the event. Creative Carlton is proudly funded by the NSW Government's Open Streets Program, led by Transport for NSW.
Council was successful in receiving $350,000 through the Open Streets Program over three years.
Bayside Mayor Edward McDougall said
"Creative Carlton is a wonderful celebration of local talent and highlights Carlton's emerging status as one of Bayside's creative hubs. Events like this help drive our economic growth and strengthen our identity as a liveable, creative city."
Minister for Transport, John Graham said
"Too often our main streets are something we drive through, rather than drive to. As this event highlights, we can use our streets to bring communities together and drive revenue for local businesses.
"Since coming to office the Minns Labor Government has been working hard to bring more fun back to Sydney after a decade of lockouts, lockdowns and overregulation. Cutting red tape and supporting these 240 events across NSW, like Creative Carlton, are a key part of that agenda."
