Crews extinguish truck fire in Lancaster

CFA crews were called to a fire involving a truck with a load of hay at around 8pm on 1 April, 2020.

Firefighters from Kyabram, Merrigum, Mooroopna and Shepparton arrived on scene to find the B-double truck fully alight.

The fire had damaged a power pole and also impacted a tree however it had caused minimal damage to the ground area surrounding the vehicle.

CFA crews assisted with a washaway of a diesel spill. EPA and local council were advised of the spill and the incident was brought under control at 9.15pm.

The truck and around 50 round hay bales were full involved in the fire which had initially started underneath the vehicle.

A stop issued on the incident at 11.56pm and the scene was handed over to local council.
