A new map 'Cruising in Campaspe' with a focus on appealing locations for motoring enthusiasts in Campaspe Shire has just been launched. The handy A4 map features snippets of information on more than 15 locations around the shire and includes a variety of sites encompassing various museums and outdoor artworks. This is the latest in a series of trail maps Campaspe Shire has released, having already supported the development of both a History and an Arts Trail map.

Mayor Rob Amos said tourism is a key component of our local economy and highlighting what is on offer is an important part of Council's role in supporting the sector.

"There are a wide range of museums and fascinating places to visit within our shire that appeal to people interested in motoring and machinery.

"But it's not just cars and tractors on offer, the Cruising in Campaspe map highlights an array of artworks that would interest not only tourists, but locals too.

"One of the locations on the map features the street art in Tongala which recently won gold at the Australian Street Art Awards 'Best Street Art Trail'.

"The map has been designed with sites in mind which make great group photo opportunities for car clubs. In fact, this Saturday, the Tongala Cruisers Club is hosting the Tongala's Beersheba Rod, Custom, Classic Car and Bike Show, so it would be the perfect opportunity to check out the show and visit the artworks around the town," he said.

Maps are available for businesses and community groups who can contact Council if they wish to stock the map at their premises and help drive interest. It is also available electronically on Council's website and hard copies will be available at Echuca Moama Visitor Information Centre, Kyabram Town Hall, Rochester Sports Museum, Council Customer Service Centres and other local attractions.

To request maps to display in your business contact Economic Development Manager Astrid O'Farrell on 1300 666 535.

"We have a geographically large shire so there are hidden gems that even locals may not have visited before. I encourage people to get out and explore their own backyard," Cr Amos said.
