City of Darwin is inviting the community to come together for National Reconciliation Week 2026, embracing this year's theme, All In, through a series of free community events.

Held annually from Wednesday 27 May to Wednesday 3 June, National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about shared histories, cultures and achievements.

City of Darwin Lord Mayor, Peter Styles, said City of Darwin remained committed to actively supporting reconciliation and encouraged people to attend one of the free events on offer.

"Reconciliation is everyone's responsibility, and meaningful change happens when we all work together," Mr Styles said.

"City of Darwin is committed to working towards a shared future built on respect, understanding and partnership."

"As part of National Reconciliation Week 2026, City of Darwin has partnered with xHal Events to deliver opportunities for the community to celebrate First Nations cultures and perspectives, and I encourage everyone to come along," he said.

City of Darwin's first community event will be held at Raintree Park on Wednesday 27 May from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The event will feature music from Melaine Mununggurr and provide an opportunity for community members to celebrate First Nations peoples and reflect on shared histories, cultures and achievements.

A Family Fun Day will also be held at Casuarina Library on Saturday 30 May from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, featuring a range of free family-friendly activities, including First Nations All In artwork colouring, an interactive animal encounter, damper demonstrations, singing with Darwin Beach Choir, Storytime and Tiny Threads activities.

The Family Fun Day aims to create opportunities for children and families to learn about the importance of reconciliation in a fun, engaging and inclusive environment.

City of Darwin encourages everyone to attend National Reconciliation Week events and participate in activities that help strengthen understanding and relationships across the community.
