Darwin City Man Charged for Reckless Endangerment: NT Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a youth in relation to robbery and assault in Darwin City yesterday.

Just before 4:30pm, police received a report of a robbery at a retail outlet store on Cavenagh Street, where a 14-year-old had stolen a bow and arrows and fled the location.

The offender was sighted by a security guard outside St Mary's Cathedral. He attempted to engage the youth at which point the youth allegedly fired one arrow in the direction of the security guard. No injuries were reported.

The youth fled towards the end of Smith Street. CCTV Operators tracked the youth and alerted nearby police to his location. Police conducted a cordon, and the youth was arrested without further incident.

He has since been charged with:

  • Recklessly endanger serious harm
  • Theft
  • Going armed in public
  • Possess/carry/use controlled weapon
  • Possess a Schedule 2 dangerous drug in a public place

He was remanded to appear in court today.
