Day three of policing response for Gold Coast Schoolies 2019

The first weekend of celebrations for schoolies concluded last night with school leavers enjoying the entertainment on offer in Surfers Paradise.

While police were generally pleased with crowd behaviour, they continue to remind school leavers to act responsibly and be safe and watch your mates.

Overnight police arrested five male schoolies on five offences which were mainly for drug offences. Two schoolies were also issued with liquor infringement notices.

In comparison for the same night in 2018 there were nine schoolies arrested.

There were 10 non-schoolies arrested on 11 charges, mostly relating to public nuisance offences.

Police continue to remind school leavers that the possession and consumption of dangerous drugs is illegal and could have fatal consequences.
