If you are an expert in nuclear forensics and would like to present your work, submit an abstract by 1 December to the 'Technical Meeting on Nuclear Forensics: From National Foundations to Global Impact', to be hosted in Vienna, Austria from 11 to 14 April, 2022.

Nuclear forensics is a key element of a nuclear security and a vital tool to deal with nuclear or radioactive material missing, lost or stolen. It contributes to the investigation of what are known as nuclear security events through tracing the origin of radioactive material.

"When radioactive material is out of regulatory control, there is a need to know where it comes from in order to support the investigation," said Elena Buglova, Director of the IAEA's Division of Nuclear Security. "The IAEA's vigorous capacity building programme supports countries in acquiring the skills needed to do just that. The participation of experts from all over the world in the upcoming meeting will build and reinforce common understanding of nuclear forensics and related topics."
