Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met yesterday with Argentina's Minister of Foreign Affairs Gerardo Werthein in New York on the margins of the 80th United Nations High-Level Week. Building on President Trump's productive meeting with President Milei, the two leaders discussed opportunities to deepen the U.S.-Argentina partnership. Deputy Secretary Landau thanked Argentina for its regional leadership in ending illegal immigration and combating criminal and terrorist organizations. They discussed the importance of using trusted vendors and systems to strengthen Argentina's information and communications networks.

The Deputy Secretary underscored Argentina's role as an important U.S. ally in Latin America and reaffirmed the United States' friendship with the Argentine people.
