Detectives continue to investigate Kangaroo Flat fatality

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives continue to investigate a fatal collision in Kangaroo Flat earlier this morning that claimed the life of a man.

The incident occurred on the Calder Highway just north of Cherry Tree Lane, on Saturday 30 May, about 2.55am.

Detectives believe the man was a passenger in a taxi just prior to the collision and had become involved in a dispute with the driver.

The 40-year-old man then got out of the taxi when he was struck by a Holden sedan travelling north.

The Kangaroo Flat man died at the scene.

The driver of the sedan, a 24-year-old Wendouree man, and the driver of the taxi, a 26-year-old Kangaroo Flat man, stopped a short distance from the scene and have assisted police with their enquiries.
