Digital Economy will be one of key topics of G20 Ministerial Meeting in Trieste

On August 5th, 2021, Digital Ministers will meet in Trieste to advance the dialogue on Digital Transformation of the economy and society as a leverage for resilient, sustainable and inclusive recovery.

On August 5th, 2021, Digital Ministers will meet in Trieste to advance the dialogue on Digital Transformation of the economy and society as a leverage for resilient, sustainable and inclusive recovery.

Based on the achievements and commitments of past Presidencies, and acknowledging of the impact of the pandemic on the economy, employment and the wellbeing of our societies, the Italian Presidency decided to place digitalisation at the center of the G20 discussions.

The Digital Economy will be a core topic, as will Digital Government. Key goals are: further harnessing the potential of digitalisation for a resilient, sustainable and inclusive recovery, keeping pace with the profound transformation that digitalisation has generated in the economy and society, and bridging inequalities.

The collaborative process among G20 Ministers was taken forward by the Digital Economy Task Force (DETF) and will culminate on August 5th in the Trieste Ministerial meeting.

The key topics related to the digital economy to be addressed during the working sessions are as follows:

– Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for MSME Inclusiveness and the Promotion of Startups

– Measurement of the Digital Economy
