One of the greatest privileges of being Mayor is recognising the incredible talent, creativity, and community spirit that make Fairfield City such a special place to live.
At this week's Council Meeting, I was proud to announce the winners of our annual Capture Fairfield Visual Arts & Photography Competition as part of NSW Local Government Week 2026. Each year, the competition provides residents of all ages with an opportunity to tell the story of our City through photography and art. It's a chance to showcase the people, places and experiences that make Fairfield City one of the most vibrant, diverse, and welcoming communities in Australia.
This year we saw an outstanding collection of entries that captured the energy, culture, and unique character of our City. Every artwork and photograph reflected a different perspective of what makes Fairfield City such a great place to call home. I encourage residents to visit the exhibition, which will be on display at Council's Civic Wing from Monday, 3 August and see firsthand the remarkable talent within our community.
As we celebrate Local Government Week next week, I invite you to visit one of our mobile offices and meet the dedicated staff who work every day to deliver the projects, programs, and services that support our growing community. At Fairfield City Council, everything we do is about our people. Our residents are at the heart of this City, and their ideas, involvement and support help shape the community we are building together.
I encourage everyone to get involved, visit a mobile office, support our local artists, and join us in celebrating the people, places, and achievements that make Fairfield City one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family.
