Do not miss CineScience: link between film and science

Every month, researchers from Wageningen University & Research (WUR) exchange their office for the Heerenstraat Theatre. As guest programmers, they choose a film or documentary that is in line with the research topic they are working on. At the start they will give a unique insight into their scientific work and explain the link with the chosen film.

This summer some CineScience movietalks (and other films) are extra special because you can watch them outside. We turn the Torckpark into a lecture and film theatre during 'CineScience in Torckpark'.

Sit back and enjoy a good film with a small scientific touch

Friday 13 August: There will be blood

On Friday 13 August, for example, the film There will be blood is on the programme. This movie is selected by Maximilian Kardung. He is doing research on the bio-economy: an alternative for the economy that is literally and figuratively driven by fossil fuels.

The film is about a self-made oil baron who knows no moral or physical boundaries in his search for new oil sources.

Maximilian wonders if our society has the same kind of greed or can we find a way to stay away from oil?

Good to know: the introduction and film are in English, the film has English subtitles.
