Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery visited Doubleview Primary School today to view the learning spaces and programs, and open the school's new facilities.
More than 400 students are thriving at the reconstructed school on Flamborough Street, which opened its doors last year.
A team of professional instructors teach students digital technologies, creative coding and digital safety skills.
The classes cover using the internet safely, the set-up of websites, developing applications and other useful skills.
The school offers a variety of programs to its students including specialist programs in music, science and technology, languages and physical education.
The total cost of the rebuild was $15.4 million.
From 2020 onwards the former Doubleview Primary School campus, fronting St Brigid's Terrace, will be home to the International School of Western Australia, which will move from its City Beach location.
As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:
"The McGowan Government is delivering on its promise of a STEM based approach to primary school education.
"These state-of-the-art facilities at Doubleview Primary School will provide a high-quality learning environment for bright young students.
"Learning about digital technologies and coding will provide students with an opportunity to excel in STEM classes in their secondary education."
