The City of Stonnington has developed a draft RAP 2025–27 and now we invite you to tell us what you think.
In 2024, we commenced our RAP journey through community engagement via in-person consultation and online via the Connect Stonnington engagement hub.
We also spoke directly with Traditional Owners, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, RAP Advisory Committee, Reconciliation Stonnington and Alfred Health, and Council staff.
The feedback we gathered informed the development of the draft RAP 2025–27, and a review by Reconciliation Australia has further refined and enhanced it.
The new draft RAP builds on the foundations of previous strategies and provides the direction for our organisation over the next two years. It also strengthens our commitment to reconciliation and outlines the pathway we will take to establish a connected and inclusive community with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (First) Peoples.
As a workplace, the RAP will ensure that the City of Stonnington is inclusive, culturally safe, diverse and vibrant.
Our vision for reconciliation is for a united, equitable community where First Peoples' voices, experiences and ideas are heard and respected, and there is deep understanding of the wrongs of the past and their impact.
For Stonnington, this represents a healthy and cohesive community with equal opportunities to participate in community life and to access services and programs. Our city will be a welcoming, inclusive and supportive city; one where truth-telling strengthens relationships between First Peoples and all other community members.
Your feedback is important to us and will help refine our final RAP and guide our reconciliation journey over the next two years.
