Drink driver crashes with kids in car, South Australia

A man and his family are lucky to escape serious injuries following a crash at Gepps Cross this morning.

About 8.30am, Saturday 30 May, police responded to reports of a car crashing into a traffic light on Main North Road.

The driver of the car a 30-year-old Barmera man submitted to a breath test and returned an alleged reading of 0.114. Of concern to police the man's partner and three young children were in the car at the time of crash.

A child was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The man lost his licence on the spot for six months and was reported for drink driving. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
