A drink driver nearly four times the legal limit was caught napping on the Southern Expressway on Wednesday morning.
Police were called about 7.30am on Wednesday 23 September by concerned motorists reporting a stationary vehicle on the Southern Expressway at Lonsdale. The driver appeared to be sleeping or passed out.
Patrols located the vehicle and the driver, a 47-year-old McLaren Vale woman, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.197.
She was reported for drink driving and issued with an instant loss of licence for 12 months.
Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days and she will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Police thank the public for the timely call and helping to prevent a serious collision.
