Driver Loses Car After Burnout In Front Of Police

A driver was reported after allegedly doing a burnout in front of police in the CBD last night.

A patrol heading south on King William Street, Adelaide, saw a Mercedes Benz sedan conduct an illegal u-turn by drifting, losing control and spinning its wheels on King William Street near Victoria Square.

They stopped the car in Currie Street and the driver, a 21-year-old Sturt man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.061.

He was reported for misuse of a motor vehicle and issued with an expiation notice for being over the legal alcohol limit.

His vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
