In January FarmHub was launched – giving Australian farmers a single destination to access help with fodder, household expenses, mental health support and more.
Developed by the National Farmers' Federation (NFF) and funded by the Commonwealth Government, FarmHub serves as an online destination or 'one-stop-shop' for farmers seeking drought assistance and support.
"Farmers managing drought are already under pressure - feeding livestock, replenishing water sources and making important farm management decisions," NFF President Fiona Simson said.
"The last thing they need is to spend time making phone calls or trawling the internet to determine their options and eligibility for help."
The St Vincent De Paul Society of NSW said FarmHub was an extremely useful resource which was used to refer many farmers to their drought assistance services.
"FarmHub has helped us supplement work on the ground within local communities" said St Vincent De Paul's National Drought Relief Coordinator, Ngaire McCubben.
"The fact that it's a national service helps raise awareness for many organisations and assistance services available to farmers across the country.
"Having a single resource that is easily accessible and seamless to use has been really helpful for farmers, especially during this dreadful drought," she said.
In its first three months of operation FarmHub has helped and informed more than 10,000 people.
