Northern Territory Police have charged a man with multiple drugs and firearm offences following a vehicle apprehension yesterday.
At around 1pm, police apprehended a vehicle for the purpose of a roadside drug test.
After the driver returned a positive reading, police undertook a search of the vehicle, locating:
- 1 gram of cannabis
- unknown white substance
- modified sawn-off rifle
- quantity of ammunition
The 26-year-old man was arrested and conveyed to the Palmerston Watch House where he was charged with:
- alter firearm so it changes class
- possess prohibited firearm
- carry firearm in public place
- possess ammunition without permit
- possess firearm under the influence
- possess firearm without licence
- possess schedule 2 dangerous drug public place
- drive prohibited drug in blood
He was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court today on Friday 29 January 2021.
