About 3.10pm, a silver Ford Fairlane sedan was travelling east along Quairading York Road, when near Murray Road, the vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
The driver and sole occupant, an 85-year-old woman, sustained critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.
