Elderly Man Missing from Bondi Junction: Police Appeal

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from the Eastern Suburbs.

Shunkang Fu, aged 89, left a home on Kenilworth Street, Bondi Junction, about 8.30am this morning (Saturday 11 March 2023), leaving a note stating he was going to Parramatta.

When he failed to return and could not be contacted, officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police have since established Mr Fu was captured on CCTV at Bondi Junction railway station just before 9am and was seen to board a rail bus where he is believed to have been in the Edgecliff area about 9.05am.

Family and police hold concern for Mr Fu's welfare as he lives with dementia and other medical conditions. He has only recently moved to the area and speaks Mandarin, with limited English.

Mr Fu is described as being of Asian appearance, about 165cm tall, of slim build with balding white hair.

As depicted, he was last seen wearing a grey check long-sleeve shirt, grey pants, a white baseball cap, blue face mask and carrying a navy and red striped bag.
