Embattled Rockliff crumbles under pressure

Tasmanian Labor

The pressure is showing on Premier Jeremy Rockliff as questions grow about the dodgy grants rorts slush fund and the government's compromised integrity.

Today in Question Time Mr Rockliff walked away and sat down without trying to answer the very serious question about misleading the parliament for a second time.

We now know that nine members of his party have had strong connections to organisations that have benefited from the dodgy grants rorts slush fund including Bass MP Lara Alexander who signed off on her own grant from when she was a candidate.

It's also unclear which Liberal members sat on the Liberal policy team and made decisions about these dodgy grants, with the Premier refusing to reveal names.

Mr Rockliff appears incapable of responding to the most serious questions in relation to this murky Liberal grants program.

He looks tired, worn out and out of energy.

One wonders whether he has the stomach for the job anymore and whether he will be back next year.
