"ESCWA Stories" Day

What: The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in cooperation with the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO (LNCU), is organizing the "ESCWA Stories Day". The event will feature theater performances by children from seven Lebanese schools, inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals.

When: Friday 17 June 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Beirut time.

Where: United Nations House in Beirut.

Why: ESCWA Stories Day marks the culmination of five months of student engagement and interaction with ESCWA Stories. The plays will convey the message of the comic book inspired by the mission of ESCWA and its approach to tackling challenges faced by member States in the Arab region.

The book raises awareness on the critical role that young people can play in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It comprises five stories illustrating characters' endeavours to realize social justice and equality, to combat poverty, to protect the environment and to contribute to the prosperity of their neighbourhood.

The ESCWA Communication Unit kindly asks media representatives wishing to cover this event to confirm their attendance to +961-81-769888 or +961-70-008879.
