Esprit De Corps On Green For Navy Week

Department of Defence

HMAS Moreton recently led the annual Navy Week Golf Day at Oxley Golf Club, running for its 7th consecutive year.

The event is the largest ADF golf event in south Queensland, with more than 50 current and ex-serving members and government employees competing to celebrate Navy Week.

Moreton's visit liaison officer Warrant Officer Col Scott has coordinated the golf day for the past seven years.

"We are committed to presenting that sport is an inclusive activity," Warrant Officer Scott said.

"Participating is the aim and signifying 'esprit de corps', mateship and exercise only adds to the reason that year after year this is a popular event, for not only golf but sport itself."

This year, the trophy was taken out by Hari Bhandari, Ryan Hegarty, Wilson Knowles and Daraius Karkaria.
