Essential Water Joins NYE Party

2025 new years even essentiil water and council water slide announcement

The city's annual New Year's Eve party is set to grow even bigger, with Essential Water partnering with Council to add a water park to this year's event.

Essential Water will provide several water slides of various sizes for families to enjoy, and the event will also feature its usual array of carnival rides, live music, and food vendors.

Council's Community Development Coordinator, Rachel Merton, said this year's event would be the largest one to date.

"The New Year's Eve party is one of our biggest events of the year, and we're really excited to join forces with Essential Water to expand it even further," said Ms Merton.

"The weather is always pretty warm at that time of year, so the water slides are going to be a very welcome addition to the lineup of attractions at the event.

"The slides are water-wise and will feature mister sprays, and any water run-off will help water the grass around the equipment.

"I want to thank Essential Water for their support and look forward to delivering a great event to the community on December 31."

Head of Essential Water, Ross Berry, said the party was a great opportunity for Essential Water to get involved and give back to the community.

"Essential Water is incredibly pleased to be involved in the New Year's Eve celebration, and we are thrilled to partner with the Broken Hill City Council for such an important community event," said Mr Berry.

"The water park addition is a wonderful opportunity for us to give back to the community and ensure everyone has a fantastic time."

This year's event will also feature a fireworks display, with Council again opting to have one large show at 9.15pm rather than separate smaller shows during the evening and at midnight.

"Although a midnight fireworks launch is probably seen as a bit more traditional, it does make for a second round of disruption for pets late at night, and younger kids often miss out on them because they're already in bed," said Ms Merton.

"So we'll keep it to one large show at a time when people of all ages can enjoy them."
