Evade Charges - Shenton Park

Detectives from the Rapid Apprehension Squad have charged a juvenile with several offences following an evade police incident that occurred in Shenton Park on Thursday, 28 August 2025.

About 10.30pm, police attempted to stop a stolen white Hyundai Kona station sedan on Selby Street in Daglish. It will be alleged, the driver failed to stop and a short evade police incident occurred.

The Hyundai collided with a taxi at the intersection of Ashton Avenue and Gugeri Street, Shenton Park. The impact of the collision caused the taxi to veer into a brick wall where it came to rest in the front yard of a nearby residence.

The driver of the taxi was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John WA for assessment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the stolen Hyundai was conveyed to Perth Children's Hospital by St John WA for assessment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The 14-year-old male driver of the stolen Hyundai has been charged with the following offences:

• 'Steal motor vehicle and drive recklessly'

• 'Driver fail to comply with a direction to stop'

• 'Reckless driving to escape pursuit by police'

• 'No authority to drive (never held)'

• 'Dangerous driving causing bodily harm'

The juvenile is due to appear before the Perth Children's Court on 8 September 2025.
