About 10.50pm, police observed a blue Mazda CX7 station sedan allegedly travelling at excessive speeds and breaching a red traffic control light on Morley Drive.
Police activated their emergency lights and sirens. However, the driver allegedly failed to stop and accelerated away from police. Due to public safety concerns, the pursuit was terminated.
About 11.20pm, police located the vehicle on Tydeman Road, near Queen Victoria Street in North Fremantle and activated their emergency lights and sirens. Police Air Wing tracked the driver as he allegedly continued to accelerate away from police.
It will be further alleged the man travelled through Fremantle and Palmyra at excessive speeds, breached red traffic control lights, drove on the wrong side of the road, and with headlights switched off. Ground units terminated the pursuit due to safety reasons.
Police Air Wing maintained visual tracking as the vehicle arrived at a nearby premises. Officers attended the location and apprehended the driver.
Upon arrest, it will be further alleged the man was found in possession of a quantity of Methylamphetamine.
A 37-year-old man from Fremantle has been charged with:
• 2 x Driver of a vehicle failed to comply with a direction to stop
• 2 x Reckless driving to escape pursuit by police
• 2 x No authority to drive
• 1 x Possess a Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine)
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday, 14 November 2025.
