Tourism Council WA has welcomed today's Main Roads update that parts of the Minilya-Exmouth Road were now open, allowing for road trips from Perth through to Exmouth via North West Coastal Highway and Burkett Road.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said Exmouth was looking forward to welcoming visitors during the school holidays and ANZAC Day long weekend.
"Qantas flights to Learmonth Airport have resumed with passenger screening for regular services approved by the federal Department of Home Affairs," Mr Hall said.
Mr Hall said passengers were advised to allow more time for security screening when departing Learmonth Airport, and to not travel to Exmouth by road or air until they had confirmed their booking with an accommodation provider.
Mr Hall said Mains Roads had designated the Minilya-Exmouth Road and some sections of the North West Coastal Highway as road open with caution, meaning drivers should travel with care and drive to the conditions.
"We encourage families and caravaners to head north for their school holiday and ANZAC Day long weekend road trips," Mr Hall said.
"Your road trip is a huge part of the economic recovery of cyclone-affected towns."
Mr Hall said Exmouth, Shark Bay, Kalbarri, Geraldton, Carnarvon, Coral Bay, Onslow and towns further in the Kimberley were open for business and ready to welcome visitors during the school holidays.
