Expired learner driver charged with high range PCA after crash - Belmore

A driver on an expired learner's licence has been charged with high-range PCA after a crash in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 11.30pm (Sunday 27 December 2020), emergency services were called to Forsyth Street, Belmore, after reports a BMW had crashed into a parked Ford Falcon utility before hitting a tree.

Officers from Bankstown Traffic and Highway Patrol attended and spoke with the driver, a 23-year-old woman, who was assessed by paramedics but not injured.

She was breath tested at the scene and returned a positive reading.

Further checks also revealed the woman's learner licence expired in August 2020.

She was arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station, where she returned an alleged breath analysis of 0.189.

The Campsie woman was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA and licence expired less than two years before.

She is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 10 February 2020.
