NSW Telco Authority participated in a panel discussion on the risks and opportunities of generative AI in public safety critical communications.

NSW Telco Authority's Chief Customer Officer Rania Wannous participated in a panel discussion at the Generative AI Summit 2023.

The summit brought together executives and leaders from across business and government to discuss the opportunities and risks of generative AI.

Rania spoke on a panel about the use of generative AI to enhance customer experiences and its potential application in public safety critical communications.

Generative AI is a powerful tool that can unlock opportunities for many individuals and organisations. However, public sector agencies are bound by the NSW Government's policies and frameworks regarding AI use.

Responsible and ethical use of AI is paramount. Ethical use revolves around appropriate consideration of privacy, transparency and accountability. This is fundamental for government, especially when also considered alongside the NSW public sector values of Integrity, Trust, Accountability and Service.

The summit is one of the biggest generative AI events in Australia, bringing together over 250 business leaders, tech executives and government decision makers to discuss the opportunities and threats that are emerging as this technology evolves and disrupts traditional business models.
