Pizzey Park Set for $42 Million Sporting Upgrade

A render of the Pizzey Park uprgrades

The City has commenced the redevelopment of a modern multi-sports precinct at one of the Gold Coast's most popular parks.
Upgrades to Pizzey Park will include the city's first synthetic athletics track and upgraded soccer fields on the south-west side of the park with lighting, a new shared clubhouse and spectator seating in between.
The junior rugby league area on the north-western side of the park will be converted into 2 full size fields with lighting.
Additional parking and public amenities will improve accessibility, enhance the visitor experience and support increased participation and make events and carnivals more functional.
"This $42 million investment is about creating a lasting sporting legacy for the Gold Coast giving local families, clubs and athletes access to quality facilities in their own backyard," Mayor Tom Tate said.
"As we look towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond, modern sporting infrastructure will help ensure our city is ready to embrace the opportunities that come with major events, while delivering facilities our community can enjoy every day.
"That's why we are delivering our first competition standard athletics facility with synthetic running track.
"Pizzey Park will be a place where the next generation of athletes can train, compete and enjoy sport for decades to come."
This stage of redevelopment continues to deliver on the Pizzey Park Master Plan which was adopted in 2021.
Once complete, the upgraded facilities will increase capacity for athletics, soccer and rugby league, helping meet growing participation demand across the city and positioning Pizzey Park as a leading multi-sport destination.
The City has worked closely with affected sporting clubs to help sporting activities continue throughout construction and minimise disruption for members.
