Progress Review For Sir Joseph Banks Park Improvements

Bayside Council will prepare a report and presentation for an upcoming committee meeting outlining progress on planned improvements to the central and western areas of Sir Joseph Banks Park, providing Councillors with an opportunity to review the project and provide initial feedback.

The update will detail work being undertaken as part of Council's adopted program of improvements for the park, including the design and tender process for the construction of a pump track, as well as planning for additional amenities, expanded car parking and improved accessible pathways throughout the western end of the park.

Sir Joseph Banks Park is a significant open space that serves both the local community and the broader Bayside area. Council has been progressing plans to enhance recreational facilities, amenities, parking and accessibility to improve the visitor experience and create stronger connections across the park.

A key objective of the project is to improve movement throughout the full length of the park while making the western end more accessible, welcoming and better connected to surrounding recreational areas.

The proposed improvements have the potential to expand recreational opportunities and support greater use of the park by people of all ages and abilities.

The committee report will provide an overview of progress to date, indicative next steps and expected timeframes for delivery. Councillors will also be invited to provide feedback on aspects of the project that remain under consideration.

Councillor feedback from the committee meeting will be considered as planning continues for the delivery of a future program of works.
