Extreme Heat Service Changes For Wednesday 7 January

Due to the forecast extreme heat for tomorrow, Wednesday 7 January, the City of Greater Geelong will make temporary adjustments to some services to keep everyone safe.

Service changes include:

  • The Carousel and Geelong Waterfront Visitor Information Centre closed, and Pop-up Museum program postponed.
  • Lara Golf Course and Balyang Par 3 – will close once temperatures reach 35°C.
  • Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre will close at 1pm.

Other City services will continue as normal:

  • Swim Sport & Leisure centres, National Wool Museum, Geelong Botanic Gardens and Visitor Information Centre at City Hall will remain open.
  • Customer Service Centres and reporting systems are operating as normal.

The Department of Health has issued a heat health warning .

Residents are encouraged to stay cool, drink plenty of fluids, check in with others, and plan ahead. Pet owners should keep animals indoors and provide plenty of water.
