What do pregnant women need to know about COVID-19 and how to keep themselves and their babies safe?
Three UC Davis Health physicians from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology will share their insights in an upcoming UC Davis Health Facebook Live event about COVID-19 and pregnancy. The event will air live on Wed., Sept. 29 at 12 p.m.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 among pregnant people when compared with non-pregnant people. Severe illness includes illness that requires hospitalization, intensive care, need for a ventilator or special equipment to breathe, or illness that results in death. Additionally, pregnant people with COVID-19 are at increased risk of preterm birth and might be at increased risk of other adverse pregnancy outcomes, compared with pregnant women without COVID-19.
During the virtual event, viewers can pose questions to the physicians.
